周一清晨，博纳领导的第一件事就是晨会演讲。在毫无讲稿和草稿之下，我们给学生们传达下面出口成章的讲话：

同学们、老师们，早上好！很高兴在新的一周见到大家。

今天早上我想和你们分享一个话题：

行动的力量

几个月之前，我们在建设一所按照我们的理想去打造的学校的道路碰到挫折。我们碰到的问题也是诸多深圳坊间的学校此刻正在经历的事情。 对我们而言，面对逆境，我们清楚要拨乱烦正的唯一方法就是做出成果。什么是成果？成果就是兑现我们给学生和家长的承诺——成功将每一个毕业生送往美国排名前100的大学。

十月中旬的一个周末一天，这一切悄无声息地开始了。校园里空空如也，耳边没有喧嚣，没有喝彩，没有加油。 我们仿佛掉落在深坑里，曙光遥遥无期。但是，倾注着我们的心灵和每一滴聪明才智，全力帮助12年级学生完成了美国大学提前录取一轮的申请工作；带领11年级学生成功晋级美国公共政治论坛辩论大赛决赛圈的工作开始了。

我知道我们必须在圣诞节前拿到好消息，给所有相信善良和奉献仍存于世的人们一个礼物。行动就是我们去努力，力量自然显现其中。

今天早上，站在这片土地上，一同见证我们共同努力所创造的历史。来自世界各地的博纳老师们，他们为博纳创造了声誉，你们各位超出我们想象般勤奋的学生们，我要向12年同学致敬！你们排除了一切的干扰，集中了所有的注意力到一个目标上面：为自己、为博纳赢得美国大学申请这场激烈的竞争！在我校升学指导负责人，执行校长张克老师的带领下。我代表学校衷心地感谢！

这就是行动的力量。这是每一个博纳学子在博纳将学习到的一个基本信念。这也是真正的美国教育能教会了你和我的。美式教育对我们意味着什么？

不管我们经历如何的困难与险阻，我们必须有乐观的信念。

这是美国的崛起的根本信念，它可追溯到美国人与生俱来的新教文化。德国哲学家马克西韦伯曾经写过一本名叫《资本主义精神和新教伦理道德》的书。正是对勤奋努力的根本信念推动美国人经历困苦和艰难万险去建造一个大国强国。

如果你遭受打击和身处困境，你该怎么办？你能怎么办？哭泣？迷失？无为？或是放弃？这些都毫无用处。你需要从逆境中按照最好方向去努力，这就是美国实用主义哲学的核心。

抱怨何用？它改变不了任何现状，抱怨来抱怨去，半小时，半天到半年，我们还是会面对同样的问题。面对困境，如果担忧有用，忧伤有用，沮丧有用，哭泣有用，那我会建议你去重复一百遍。但是实际上却没有任何的效果，所以学习和工作不相信抱怨，发展与成就也不相信抱怨。

基于此四个核心的信条，我愿意和我们两类同学谈谈。其中一些同学被英语学习的挑战吓倒。其实大可不必如此，英语学习只不过是另一座可以征服的山峦，你所需要的就是十分的努力加上十足的信念。还有一些同学现在还未达到我们的期望，学如逆水行舟，不进则退。如果倦怠成为阻碍学习的一个问题，

请听如下的一个故事：

在欧洲有两类国家具有十分鲜明的特点，一类是像意大利、希腊、西班牙、法国等天主教国家，还有一类就是德国、荷兰、英格兰等新教国家。两类国家比较，谁拥有更具生产力的劳动力还有繁荣的经济？

显然是后者，大家知道原因吗？如果大家看过西甲联赛，对西班牙有所了解的话，你们就会知道西班牙人跟地中海其他国家都有午睡的习惯。所以有个说法是，天主教的人睡得好，新教的人吃得好。吃得好的人比睡得好的人去更具有成效。所以容易倦怠的同学，要求吃好些无可厚非，但是在浑浑噩噩中度日，浪费自己的生命和别人的时间就是罪过。食物易得然而韶华难在，一寸光阴一寸金。

最后，11年级的同学，你们的时间异常宝贵！今年也是你们最重要的一年，它将决定你们以后大学的方向和职业的选择。期盼各位能够迎接挑战，体会挑战！作为过来人，我要告诉大家，当你们回首往昔岁月，一定会发现此时是你人生中最宝贵的时光。同时，我校众多能力出众，经验丰富的老师将会和你们齐心协力，共助大家圆梦大学！

编后语：博纳学校的兴起让深圳坊间一夜之间增加了许多试图复制“博纳模式”的业务爱好者。举办国际学校是一件极具技术含量和核心技术的行当——把任何水平录取进来的学生送进世界一流大学，不靠生源，只靠技术！ 博纳做到了。博纳经历过起伏，相对于博纳今天取得的成功，不过是博纳航船启航破浪碰到的水花。然而，这样的起伏正考验着试图复制“博纳模式”的业余者们。博纳能够借鉴给大家的是来自真正懂得美式教育的“行动的力量”！

The Power of Action

Good morning, Students, Fellow Colleagues, it is nice to see you to kick off a new week.

This morning I wish to speak with you about one topic, the Power of Action.

A few months back, our effort to establish a school in a way of what we want suffered a setback. It is the exact same thing that many other new schools are going through right now. For us, back then, we know that the only way that SAIE can make things right is to deliver results. The results that we promise to our students and families, to send every single one of our graduates to the Top 100 Universities in America.

So one day in Mid October, a weekend day, no one in the school, no cheers in our ears, deep in the hole and seemingly no daylight in sight, the fight back is started right there, by putting our heart and soul, every drop of ingenuity in helping our G12 students to complete the Early Action round of College Application and getting our students into the Qualifying Round of International Public Policy Forum Essay and Debate Contest.

We knew that we must have good news by Christmas, a present to all of the believers that kindness and true devotion still exists in this world. Action was what we had taken. Power indeed it shows.

This morning, we are standing on the ground of history that was made through our collective effort: Teachers from around the world who have made a good name for SAIE. Students who are dedicated beyond our imagination. I salute the G12 students who shunned all distraction and focused on one goal, winning the College Application contest for themselves and for SAIE, by working closely with the College Placement Team led by Executive Principal Zhang.

This is the Power of Action. This is a fundamental belief that SAIE students would learn here. What does American Education speak to you and me?

No. 1: Tomorrow is gonna be a better day. We must always have a sense of optimism, no matter what hardship that we are going through.

No. 2: Hard work pays off. This is fundamental to the rise of America and it traced back to the Protestant ethic that many American are born with. German Philosopher Max Weber once wrote a book “The Spirit of Capitalism and Protestant Ethic”. It is this fundamental belief that drove Amerian people to work hard and build a great nation.

No. 3: Action starts with you and now. What are you gonna do when you suffered a big blow and setback. You cried? got lost? do nothing? and gave up? It is none of the above. You make the most of any situation. This is central the Pragmatism Philosophy of the American.

No. 4: No Whinning. Why whine when it changes nothing? When faced with a difficult situation, if it would help to worry, feel sad and dejected or cry, it will suggest to do it all. But it has absolutely no use. So there is no whining in Studying and Achieving, in Business and Thriving.

It is with there four core values. I want to speak to two kinds of students. Some of you are intimidated by the challenges of learning English. Don’t be. It is nothing more than another mountain to conquer. But you must put in the effort require and keep believing in yourself.

Some of you, however, sadly I shall say, have not lived up to the standard of a SAIE student. There are scores of people wanting to get in our school right now. If sleepy heads were a problem, please take note of this:

In Europe, two types of countries are distinctively different. Countries of Catholic religion, such as Italy, Greece, Spain and France, and Countries of Protestant religon such as Germany, Holland and England. Who has the most productive workforce and prosperous economy? It is the latter. Do you know why?

If you have known Spain through La Liga, you will know Spanish has the habit of siesta. It turns out there is a saying, Catholic people sleep well while Protestant people eat well. Guess what? eating well is a hundred time more productive than sleeping well. So sleepy heads, it is no sin to demand good food. I am sure that your parents would not object strongly. But it is a CRIME to waste your life and other people’s time. Food is renewable but time is never. An inch of time is an inch of gold.

Finally, G11 students, you are amidst a hell of a time! This is about the most important year that you will live so far. It will determine what course to take for your college and career. I want you to relish this challenge. Action is what it takes. With wisdom, I will want to tell you that when you look back in your life, this is about the best time of your life. Wish you all realizing your dream, especially with so many competent teachers who are ready to help you.
