Calculating your entry score
Recently there has been an important change to the conditions of entry to Monash University degrees in the Faculty of Business and Economics.
Old rules:
Students who began the Diploma of Business Part 2 before the June trimester, 2009
AND will be commencing University study in Semester 1, 2010
- Students may remove one fail unit from the calculation of their average score.
Students MUST begin University study in Semester 1, 2010 to be eligible for the current entry requirements. Otherwise, they will need to satisfy the new entry requirements.
Calculation:
Add the marks for all Part 2 units studied (including fails) = Total
Subtract the mark for the 'lowest fail' from the Total = Adjusted Total
Unit average (%) = Adjusted Total / (number of units studied -1)
If students have not failed a unit, the calculation is the average of all units undertaken in Part 2 of the Diploma.
New rules:
Applies to students that commenced Part 2 study in or after June 2009.
The new rules also apply to ALL students who commence University study after semester 1, 2010.
- Entry scores are calculated as average of all units completed (including fails).
* Please note that any unit studied as a single unit enrolment does not count towards the calculation of the unit average
Calculation:
Add the marks for all Part 2 units studied (including fails) = Total
Unit average (%) = Total / (number of units studied)
